Vision Insurance
Recently patient demand has increased dramatically, and we are experiencing longer wait times. To continue to offer you an amazing experience in our office, with shorter wait times for services, AVC has chosen to re-evaluate all plans we are accepting at this time. Unfortunately, many vision plans significantly reduce our ability to provide the best patient care utilizing the latest advancements & technologies. The vision plan places a very low value on the services we render to every patient, making it difficult to reinvest in our practice and our patient experiences.
Effective March 1st, 2024, AVC will no longer be a preferred provider for your vision plan. We are able to continue to see most patients for their annual comprehensive exams under their major medical plans. This exam is subject to your plan co-pays, deductibles, and any other cost sharing. We have solutions available to you to assist with the purchase of contacts and glasses, while utilizing your vision plans open access benefits giving you better value and often saving you money.

Flexible Spending Accounts
Many employers are offering Flexible Spending Account (FSA) options to employees. Sometimes these are referred to as cafeteria plans and are elective, supplemental insurance savings plans. These plans are designed to let you save money in an account, pre-tax, to pay for additional medical expenses such as eye exams, glasses, contacts, and often laser vision surgery. Check with the benefits administrator at your work to see if you are eligible for this program. FSAs can typically be used in conjunction with any vision insurance plan to offset any out-of-pocket costs on your behalf.
